Hello

Looking for some advice. My mechanic confirmed my turbo is on its way out and needs replaced. Don’t have the cash to get a full reconditioned one at the minute so managed to pick up a working one from a damaged Insignia. There is some soot around the vanes and wondered what is the best way to safely clean (or not) before unit gets fitted.

any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Professional turbo refurb was £140 (without removal)
Clean, new bearings and seals. Then balanced. So essentially brand new and no future worries.
Just search turbo refurbishment on google and you’re area. Plenty allow posting too.

There is a turbo cleaner aerosol spray that you spray it in and leave to soak and work the actuator to help loosen the vanes etc. Ordered it in at eurocarparts last year
