So basically what I’m asking is where is airflow originally brought into the air box from? The pipe from the top after the filter goes into the turbo however pre filter the ducting goes downwards and on the passenger wheel arch it’s vented. Is this where the air is being brought in? Where the original point of entry for air being used by the engine?

Usually from an inlet in the slam panel where it is high enough to protect it from sucking water in when dopey people drive through floods.

As above. I'd imagine it'll towards the top left hand side as you look into the engine bay from the front. Infront of the airbox. Do you have the 2.0cdti engine? Are you trying to take it back to original?
