hey guys..

Got a 2002 vectra b 1.8 petrol although it sounds more like a diesel! Here is a video of the noise

Not sure what it could be I’ve tried wynns hydraulic cleaner but only stayed smooth and quite for a few weeks...

It’s only like this when I’ve been driving harder on the accelerator for example on the motorway etc.

One other issue is that sometimes it starts then cuts out again and when idle the revs drop nearly stalling but corrects itself after a few seconds

Any help would be appreciated

When did you last get cambelt done.. I'd does sound similar to when I had my 1.6 vectra and it had jumped a tooth.

They do have a slight ticking noise the z16xe and z18xe but I'd be taking the top cam cover off and check alignment

had this before on these engines after a good run , can be caused by a build up of carbon & crap in the sump . After a good run it gets sucked up & partially blocks the pick up strainer causing low oil pressure . I would have the sump off & clean it out as well as the pick up pipe .
