Hi
I'm new here - the headlamp switch on my 98 (S) Astra is dodgy. Turn it on - sidelights come on but not heads - thump the switch & they flicker on & off until they seem to settle down !!
So new switch seems to be the order of the day - but how do I get the old one out ??:shame:
Help perlease!!

Thanks - yes I've checked that - the headlights don't come on at all, neither dipped or main, and thumping the switch certainly makes it work !!

Seem to recall that if you look at the bottom of the rotary knob there is a hole, insert a samll screwdriver adn yo can press a tab in.

I then use a couple of butter knives inserted either side of the switch (there is a couple of metal retaining springs here) and ease it out. With teh knob removed you can gte a special tool to pull it but, you should be able to cope without.

Thanks Marks
In daylight this morning have managed to extract the switch - didn't realise that tge whole unit was combined - hence a quote of £67 + VAT for a replacement!!
Took it apart & cleaned it up but it's still dodgy!!
Thanks again for your help
