I recently bought a combo with a 1.7DTI engine and was wondering about ways to make my stock turbo louder without having to upgrade it, I have replaced the stock air box with a cheap Halfords honeycomb filter and It has made it a little more audible, however, that's not enough  Another option that I am thinking is shortening the intake pipe, Cam-shaft ventilation pipe into atmosphere and also retrofitting the MAF sensor closer to the turbo?

If this is the next step for me to take whilst keeping costs cheap ill do it, but if anyone has a better suggestion other than to sell it please let me know :)(y)

Yea I had a little black box of tricks that replaced the maf sensor.

I don't think it will like it if you move the maf sensor either. They are normally by the filter as that's where there's less turbulence. I would visit your local tuning shop to see what filter they recommend.
A lot diesels tend to make a horrid groaning sound when idling, when you start messing with induction.
