I assume the battery was tested and found to be faulty.

To be honest I just had it swapped without having it tested - I figured after 6 years it could probably do with a replacement

So far so good - its started without hesitation every time. I'll only post again the problem happens again. Thanks for your advice..

Well, we're back to square one.... car has been fine for past 10 days - and it has just failed to start, again....

Totally stumped - any ideas? Crankshaft sensor? Fuel pump injector relay???

To start - use Easy Start. It works - hope this helps Vauxhall identify the fault - looks like a manufacturing defect to me !!! or a sensor that is not linked to the error detection.

Do the pedle test when it doesnt start - I wouldn't be surprised if you get the error code 161450 (Translated : Immobiliser wrong signal received B-008 or wrong transponder key immobiliser B-006).

There is no problem with your Car but the problem lies with the communication between your car and the Immobiliser. Do let me know how things progress -hope your problem is resolved soon.

thanks for comments - my understanding of CIM pick up error would be flashing spanner and not cranking over -(which would generate the 161450). Am I right in saying this - please correct me if I am wrong!!

However, there is no flashing spanner, and cranks fine.

I have had the same problem - got the error code yesterday. Taking it to the service Centre today. Error Code present but no warning lights flashing. Also, the code will go away after a few normal ignition. Please check everytime the car doesn't start. This seems to be a know issue though.

ok will check pedal code - it hasn't always generated a code in the past. If its a known issue do you know what the cause/cure is?

Technical reference for this is E0002115. Aparantly it only impacts Astra and Zafira between 2005 and 2007 (software version and not the model of the car). The solution - as per web, is to upgrade the CIM which can only be done by Vauxhall.

I had this problem when I was in Scotland a few weeks back. They couldnot find any problem (you guessed it) as there was no error code. It always starts if I use Easy Start. I started teh car and drove for 430 miles without any problem - hence the assumption taht there is no mechnical fault with the vehicle. No problem for a couple of weeks and it has resurfaced yesterday - I now have the error code !!!

I am taking it to the garage today - lets see what they say. Hope the code stays on !!!

Do let me know how you get along. BTW Where abouts in UK are you ?
