Hi I am running a VW Passat 1.9 tdi 130pd has 140k due for oil service soon which oil do you folks think and brands any offers ?

This motor pulls like a train leaves most other cars standing even kept up with a new golf GT TDI:D made my £1000 I paid for it back over the Xmas period cabbing part time. Also the boot seems bigger then my insignia tourer.

EuroCarParts site says you can use 5w30, 5w40 and 0w30, there is a code this weekend for 30% off ( WEEKEND30 ), this brings 5ltrs price down to just under £20 for Fully Synthetic for PD engines.

Is this 1.9 the same one that was put in the Ford Galaxy

IMG_0403.JPG Comma oils are the ones I use in all my cars , I used their oil in my both my 1.9 tdi Skodas .
On this engine you need 5w/30 fully synthetic oil to VW standards . This is the one I used in my 1.9 tdi's .

Thanks il grab 2 X 5 litre gallons this week. Only thing I didn't want to fiddle with is the air filter is one of those induction kit type :D I may swap it for k&n induction or something but il leave that until main service. Get a extra 1bhp

Great car great engine. Had 2 of these that covered near 400k between them. Without an ounce of trouble. And yes plenty of power. Maybe its been remapped if its that quick.

    1. Good to know mate that's the same thing you hear from previous owners these are the type of motors that VW got its reputation for being good reliable engines before all these emmisions scandal :D

I did want a skoda superb instead but couldn't find one at the time for my budget. But the estate boot on this is great.
