    I have the same problem.

Drive 450 miles over the weekend. Got home Sunday and parked up. Go to the car on Monday 2PM to drive to work and it's dead.

It did start and splutter the first time but now it turn turns over without firing up.

It's an S reg 2.0 Turbo Diesel piece of junk (Knew I should have stuck with petrol)

Any ideas? Got a mobile mechanic coming today (Tuesday) to have a look. Will let you know.

I drive a vectra 97 R reg 2lt tdi, and have been having problems for a long time.

I find it only starts if i park it facing down hill. Even then after long journeys it sometimes won't start, but a bump start usually cures it. Its as if somethimgs sticking.
Also had problems with air flow meter which causes lack of power when accelerating, when we had this replaced the first time it sorted out our starting problems, but we also had a no return valve and injector seals fitted in the system at just 3 years old. Now on our 2nd airflow meter, and now runs fine but we still have starting problems as soon as parked on the flat or uphill. Does anyone really know what the cure is??
Won't buy another Vauxhall turbo diesel, want to sell it, but who to??

Have uz changed the glow plugs. Could that be the cause of the problem.

it is probably the injector seals.the glow plugs dont normaly come on this time of the year,if the car will only start facing down hill then it could be the injector seals or a air leak in the fuel lines, try changing the leak off pipes and the t pieces as well,as to the fuel cutoff if the engine is a 2.0 diesel it doesnt have one, only the 1.7 had one
