    Hi all,

    weren't sure if most of you were aware (as I wasn't until today) that Vx have a general number and call centre dedicated to giving technical advice.

    The number is: 01582 427200. You'll speak to a telephone clerk who'll take details of your prob, put you on hold whilst they speak to an 'expert' and then let you know the findings. I've used it today twice and basically as long as your as thorough as can be when telling the operator your prob so they can relay as much as poss - then the answers received will be quite good (although not a patch on Cav-web:D )

    i'm sure this is is a dealer only number mate...to assist vauxhall technicians, very near or exact same number i called today for tech 2 problems, you are being veeeeery dodgy...why are they not aking your dealer site code?????

    be careful....cos they'll rumble you.

    That number is for Vauxhalls retail support centre at griffin house. I use it to get model details etc (and to complain about dealers ;) ) and is listed on their website

    Doubt its for dealers only cause I have used it a few times in the past and they are generally pretty good..... Only as good as the info YOU supply tho of course ;)

    I did state I was a member of the public and not a dealer and needed some tech advice, but in the past they've normally put me through to my local spares/repair centre, so I thought this was a new system they'd set up.

    Richies totally right in saying they're only as good as the info you supply as it gets relayed back and forth be a call centre clerk.

    I once contacted the FORD tech support (about 11 years ago) about my Fiesta Car Derived Van with Rear Side Windows. I explained the fault and the Engineer on the end of the line laughed and told me the cause and the part number to buy from my dealer. I phoned him back when I had fixed it and thanked him ! He said "Anytime Mate, that's what they pay me for"
