as I've stopped taxi work now just letting that policy run out as il get my 7 years no claims then. I took out traders policy today to buy and sell cars. Got that prestigious vectra and a corsa that I've added.
il be visiting a auction house tomorrow got room for 2 more cars on the driveway. :D

My question is do I require trade plates as I've printed the application anyone who could advice me as I starting up part time. i know they are cost effective as you don't have to tax the car..Am probably gonna jump on to my Hgv driving next week. This is a side project.

Il go ahead with it Then just got room for 4 cars on driveway so was trying to work out best way. I remember A trader I knew used to tell me you can't have them unless you got your own commercial premises etc. Seems like some traders don't want you knowing anything...
Best thing was I was able to mirror my no claims over to this policy cost just over £1100 can add as many cars with car value of £5000 quite. Happy.

Be careful not to upset your neighbours, or they will grass you up to your local council for running a business from home.

Careful when you fill in the log book, there is a section you can fill in as a middle man so your never classed as the owner, ie you don't want to sell a car with only 2 owners then u being 3rd..

Unless you have a show room or plenty of spare time on your hands for time wasters I wouldn't even bother buying and selling cars on the side, plus all the hassle getting them fixed, cleaned for sale and any after sales problems that were hidden away you can be liable for.

There is a matey boy near you that sells cars like vxr's and st's he operates and leaves his cars in the empty hand car wash spaces in exchange for a paid wash everytime someone views the car its a win for him as car is shiny for viewings and free storage and win for cleaners as they have empty spaces and plenty of regular washes on already clean cars

I am just doing at the moment until I get more experience on The Hgv driving. Have a bit of spare time I am enjoying after doing taxi work for the last 8 years.

I was at mk auction there was only 30 cars and about 100 dodgey looking punters never seen so much crap. All cars sold as seen. I am planning on selling cheap small cars like corsa, Clio, fiesta and Yaris etc no more then £700 value.
Saw a Nice green VXR corsa earlier went for £70 with matching green civic for £200 :D pics added of the bargains

You should of grabbed the VXR with both hands, you could of made a lot more than you paid selling the parts on ebay

That looks like the auction near furzton.. Where I sold my dead astra, cleared the fault codes, someone drove it through, people looked thru window while driver sat in it, they asked him to rev it then started bidding, it sold £800 then drove out, went and collected my cheque minus a fee. Don't forget ur total price is subject to fees aswell. As you say everything is sold as seen (normal auction rules) and they store it a few days for you to collect. If your buying to sell as middle man forget auctions, take advantage of people wanting quick easy sales and offer low its only way to flip money with less risk of buying a duffer
