I know the settings to the head in the haynes it has

    stage 1-25nm
    stage2-90o
    stage3-90o
    stage4-90o

all ok,,now bolts the guy has sold me are showing in the leaflet

    s1-25nm
    s2-60o
    s3-60o
    s4-60o

i know they are for the c16nz engine

so are bolts he sold wrong,i asked him and he said they are the same thread size,,but the new ones have torque heads instead of my old hex heads.

he said they will be fine to tighten to 3x90o instead of 3x60o

    is that right??

I had the same situation when changing the head gasket on a 20SEH. Old bolts were hex heads, replacements were torque, but with no instructions as to the value.

I did those up to the stated torques and they were, and still are fine.

    Go with...

    s1-25nm
    s2-60o
    s3-60o
    s4-60o

As it directly relates to the specific capacity of those torque head bolts to apply the correct force.Your not using hex bolts so the old values dont apply.

hi mate,in the end the bolts was to small in thinkness they was m10 x 145mm.

we could find the bolts i had in shop,so in end found a set to fit a cavalier /astra c20ne,89- with a torque head fitting, exact same size bolts.

but no instruction in them or anythin on the box.

so ill prob just go with the settings it gives me for that engine in the haynes now
