    vauxhall combo 1.3 diesel
Hi all, new to this site so please be gentle. Bit of a big thread so bear with me....
I'm having a nightmare with my combo. It started being hard to start after being sat for more then a few hours or cold. Perfectly fine when warm. But sounds like fuel and air are being sucked into engine when you turn ignition on for the first time. Slowly got harder and harder to start. Car with spanner light comes on after a few miles driving. But when plugged into reader (Vauxhall specialist and another garages snap on one) both read no stored codes. had a diesel specialist look at it and he checked over all the filter parts and pipes with nothing looking bad. He rebuilt/ re sealed the high pressure pump. new glow plugs fitted and still no difference. After putting up with it for over 6 months I had it serviced again and they plugged the computer in and it read an egr fault. Just had the egr valve replaced with a lucas one. New fuel filter, coolant flush, and cleaned up everything that came off pipes wise. Now when driving there is serious power lag and smoking. If I try and drive normally and keep the revs down the van kangaroos down the road but atleast its smokeless. If I boot it (foot flat down) then it pulls without any hesitation or jerking atall but is smoking beyond belief from the exhaust. swapped maf for a friends which is working fine and no difference. Cleaned map and no difference. No lights on dash and no codes to point in right direction. If I unplug maf or egr it drives without smoke but in limp mode and wont go over 3k revs. Loosing the will to live with this. Looks like it may be a problem because of egr change but everything went back as it came off no problem. any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

What code readers have been used on it.? A lot of non franchise will not read codes stored under the SVS light - may need tech2win using or Opcom. A monitor of live data whilst cranking would be the next step.
