    Hi all.

Just installed a new dash cam (Nextbase 412GW) with the hardwire kit and ive routed the wiring through to the fuse box inside the car in the glove box.

I'm having trouble finding a switched live fuse socket (I want the camera to power on & off with the ignition) but every socket I've tested so far seems to be a permanent live. I would have thought the air con, cigarette lighter would have been switched live as they don't work when the keys are not in the ignition but when I connect the camera up to that fuse the camera comes straight on.

I have read on another forum that the fuse board in the car stays live???????

Can any one point me in the direction of a switched live inside the car? A friend of mine has borrowed my multi-meter before any suggests using one :)

    Cheers

same here, bought an longer lead with usb on the end, along with a double usb that plugs in the ciggy lighter socket, then routed the cable behind the glove box and up the door piller and along the edge of the roof lining to the back of the mirror. (y)

Fuses 6 & 7 , in the glove box fuse block, are switched live lines.

Make connection to them with a piggy back fuse, available from E-bay.
