Hi All. Does anyone knows which wires must be used to stereo. Previous owners cut out all plugs, have only bunch of wires. I tested conti to steering and have red/blue and gray clear. Any help will do thank you. I tested resistance between brown/black- red/blue and red/blue -brown/red. Resistance is the same both ways. Ive read through all previous posts but nowhere does anyone mentioned wire colours. I even went to vauxhall and they gave me a drawing but that does not match the colours. Any help please

What colours info do you need as theres some colour that power other things from the stereo then the same colour run speakers.

Hi I want to know which colour wires must I connect to the Illum wire for steering control. The stereo has one orange and one blue for power ant. Wires that i have tested for resistance is brown/red and blue/ red and brown black.

If i use those wires you suggested should i ground one because this stereo has only one key wire.
    Thank you for reply

Hi Mark. Thank you for the docs but it does not work. I have used the red/white and then the red/blue. I have two red/blue wires. So if I test resistance between the 1st red/blue and white/red all seems to be ok with good resistance when pressing a button. But when i connect to stereo with buttons programmed nothing works. Resistance between red/blue and red/blue also good but does not trigger actions from buttons. However the volume goes from 10 directly to 0 when they are connected

Colour wires should help you to check .
Possibly use a multimeter on the wires at the controls to find them at the stereo end. If you do check via this way remember to disconnect the battery at least 20/30 mins before you attempt to remove the air bag. (Prevents it going off in your face and also stops the fault code and light coming on in the clocks)

Ok let me get this right. The plugs for thereo where cut so you try to put them right? What stereo are you putting back in genuine head unit or aftermarket? If aftermarket you will need the rezistive module for steering controls. I can have a look late tonight for you as i have a astra g with centre console and stereo of. ( so i will get some pictures, will that help?) Alternatively i can have a look in tis for schematics and wire colors but bare in mind i need to know more info, like engine code, if it has ac and what trim is: LS SXI etc also the year will help as some point they changed the colour coding for that wiring loom ( probably thats why does not match the info you got from vauxhall.
