    Hello all,

I have an 04 meriva and I am wondering how to replace the outside temperature sensor on it. It seems to have broken and I know that it is behind the front number plate, but I simply can't get there.

Any ideas? Has anyone done it? Its meant to be a simple job so they say....

    Thanks all

    NID

Just been outside in my dressing gown to take this!! A bit out of focus, but i took it on my phone in the dark. Open the bonnet, undo the allen bolts holding the black panel on at the top of the radiator which will give you access to behind the bumper area. You will see the sensor behind the number plate on the drivers side. Simpy prise off the multiplug which plug in from the bottom, then remove the sensor which should just pull out from the vehicle.

If the sensors fail, you usually get a -- in the display or totally false readings.

If you get stuck let me know.

Not sure, it will definately be around this area though. My astra's was under the l/h corner of the front bumper. Once you've located it, its a 30 second job. Did mine on the side of the road!! Someone here will know its precise location.

Do all Meriva's have outside temp sensor, where does it show in the dash, will have a look to see if my brother's got one, his is an 04 plate aswell 1.7 cdti i'm sure it the design spec, it's got tinted windows at the back and seems to have everything else a top of the range car would have ie air con, alloys, fogs even got some kind of stereo jack and volume switch in the back, ( never uses it though) I'll have a look in the car for the temperature display if you guys can tell me where it is.

Not even my car and yet here I am.:ROFLMAO:

Yep all merivas have them. Its shown in the display on top of the dash. Sounds like a design spec to me. Design spec is focused on looks rather than equipment. I have the enjoy model which has a few interor bits that design models dont have......................anyway......................

Virtually every Vauxhall from around 1993 or 1994 has had them fitted.
