Removing/Cleaning Mass Air Flow Meter astra G

    Hi there,
    I want to clean the Mass Air Flow Meter on the Air Intake of my Astra G, does in clip in, twist in? How can one remove it from the Air Intake Housing for cleaning?
    Thanks for any help ye may be able to give.

    Two torx security screws hold it in, you can hacksaw a slot in it to use a normal screwdriver :)

    Isn't that the Idle Air Valve?

    Sorry i mean the one that fits into the black plastic air intake pipe, not the IAC Valve which is screwed into the throttle body with the two torc screws, just need to know if it needs to be turned or is it clipped in some way?

    just lossen the jubilee clips on the surrounding pipes and its just wedged in,

    no way of cleaning it tho really, is just a plasitc tube, shouldnt be dirty in there,

    why do you want to clean it?

    Oh!

    Oh i thought it could be cleaned, cleaned the Idle Air Control one before as i get high idle revs when cold, maybe i need to clean it again as i have replaced the EGR and it might have led to carbon build up when it was giving hesitation problems.

    you can clean the inside of the pipes that go into the throttle body, that will prob help, cant really clean the AFM tho (y)
