I am having to unlock my doors with the key in the lock and turn it. I have changed the battery but the remote still does not work. The car starts fine. Whats the next thing to check?

Do the lights come on on the remote when you press the button ?

If they do then sit in the car, turn on the ignition and press the lock button on the keyfob within 10 seconds or so.

In your manual there should be a section about resyncing the fob with the car after you have changed the battery.

The solder that holds the battery holder to the little printed circuit board in the key fob can crack sometimes, mine did so i carefully re soldered it back and it works fine now. Its a bit tricky, but cheaper than a new key fob. You will have to re sync it afterwards, check your manual on how to do this. Good luck.

There is also a fix of folding up a bit of cardboard, wedging it in behind the battery, problem sorted. If that is your problem of course, than as Dest described, re-sync it
