Hi all, this is my first post and I hope someone can help.

    I have a 2003 Zafira 1.8 Club

The cigarette lighter stopped working and in an effort to fix it I went through the fuses and found a blown one which I replaced. Lighter works fine now but the Radio won't work.

On turning on the ignition the Radio/Clock display area shows a time of 0:00 and "SAFE" is displayed.
Switching the raidio on changes "SAFE" to "01-01-1997"

I am guessing that unplugging a fuse has caused this but I have followed the instructions to input the radio code and this does not work.

Very grateful for any help you can give

    Thanks
    Brian

SAFE is because the power has been disconnected.

    Procedure is as follows.

    Turn radio off.
Press and hold AS button and turn on radio.
    Display should now read ----
Use keys 1 thru 4 to enter the right code, toggling thru the numbers at each press.
When right code is displayed press AS until radio unlocks.
If code was wrong the display will say SAFE 9 (8,7,6 etc)
If display says SAFE X where X is a number lower than 9 then there will be a waiting period that will be longer for each wrong attempt.

Vectraowner, thanks for that. I am pretty sure that's what I did following the directions in the manual but I'll try again following your directions.

    Regards
    Brian
