I have a Meriva 1.6 Life, This morning I have found that the High level brake Lights are not working, stripped the Led unit and found that the voltage reading was 3 volts when the brake pedal is pressed.
What is the voltage for these lights and do they have a transformer to lower the voltage from 12 volts. Any help please

No, don't think they do. Could be a broken wire or a bad earth.

Where were you taking the voltage readings from?

sorry to take so long, I took the reading from the power cables attached to the led board and also took a reading from the contacts inside the plug where the high level led brake lights are connected to, I was unable to remove the board from the plug as I was trying to find out if there was 12 volts showing, I realise all I may have done was reading the voltage within the led circuit as I was unable to remove the board. Is this the case? How do you test the led board.
