    hi guys,
I think I may have a problem with the tank sender unit, where before the fuel tank got to about 1/4 empty, the fuel light would come on, and as lower the fuel went down then it would flash.
Now light only comes on when its almost middle of the red on empty, then soon after starts to flash.
apart for this every think is fine with the vehicle. If the tank unit needs to be changed how is this job done, and also where could this be purchased from.

One more question please, Outer cv joint, are they knock off from the drive shaft, or is there a circlip that holds it on.
    thanks for all your help.

my vehicle is Frontera B 2.2 dti Sports 2003

Hi there few ideas for you, basically i dont know the answers but.....as you say some drive shafts are knock off and some have a circlip, my guess is with yours there is a circlip you have to open to put lt off, regarding the sender unit, yes it sounds like the sender unit is at fault, but some things to think about, for a start is it really worth doing?, i dont know if its petrol or diesel, but if its petrol the fuel pump is also on the same unit, and on some vehicles you have to take the fuel tank out to change it....that isn't an easy job, some vehicles have a big rubber bung under the back seat or in the boot, which you can pull out and change the unit, if it has got a pump on the unit you might be able to change just the sender, some people have been known to change the whole unit with pump and everything...that cost about £200 or so....so just an insight to what it entails....i'm sure some others on here will give you a more accurate description of your vehicle, that is just a general rule of thumb, i have a 2000 Corsa C, 3 cylinder.....the pump is usually held in with a circular retaining ring which you turn about 1/4 turn and lift out...and rubber seal in there....hope that helps...from Fred in Essex.
