Oil Leak, BMW 320i 06 plate

    BMW2.jpg BMW3.jpg My sons bm has started to leak oil, can anybody looking at the pictures tell us what this part is, as it looks like its where the oil is coming from. the pictures ware taken from the drivers side looking down between the engine and the water expansion tank

    Is the 'oil' hard and brittle?
    Difficult to make out from the pictures but is it a leaky injector? Is the car a diesel?

    Need a wider view time make sense of it. There does seem to be a part number above where made in Austria is. Can't quite make it out

    Thanks for the reply's we had it checked out at the local workshop it seems its an oil valve of some description. the chaps going to give BM a ring to see what's behind it before he unbolts it ...... ;]]
