Updated the How 2 for a 4 pin relay, with fitting pictures.

Right, I tested my Circuit with a High Gain Darlington Transistor and a 20K pull down resistor.

Testing with a Transistor comparable to the one from Maplin it didn't work with a 20K, but does with the 10K I suggested.

This will draw about 1.2mA with the ignition off.

If your transistor has a low gain then 10K may be insufficient.

I'll look into Higher gain Transistors (Cheap) or using FET (Field Effect Transistors) to reduce this current draw.

There is a Contact for the Fan you are not mistaken, but it is at position II same as ignition.

The immobiliser breaks the Ignition Circuit, but not the blower circuit, so you can have the blowers on with the car immobilsed.

    Don't ask me why!!

What made you change to a 4 pin relay then???

4 pin relays seem more common. I have a dozen 30A 4 pin relays, but only one 5 pin which I gave to SimonP with an ABS AMP in it.

I have also discovered a flaw in the design:mad:

When you have the ignition on I or II with the radio on and the side lights on, then switching the indicators will turn off the Radio!!!

An Easy way to get round this would be to connect the Standard radio ignition supply to the radio in addition to the relay output.

The radio will still go off at position I but when do you signal, with Sidelights on when stationary?

I've also found a better Transistor but Maplin don't Stock it.
MPSA63, which will allow a pull down of 100K making the current drain ~0.1mA.

I'm going to order 20 of them and I'll add them as an Option to the How 2.

i duno jack bout it all but cudnt you just wire the constant 12v feed (yellow i think? used for memory backup) in the 12v with engine on feed on the ISO plug?

like i say, i duno jack and if i do that my car will probably explode??:D :D

The reason I did this was due to a thread where people wanted the Radio to come on with the key, but not have all the electrical stuff on the ignition energised.

If you connect the Memory wire (yellow) to the IGN wire (red) then your ignition will be on all the time (until the Memory fuse blows)

You can connect the Memory wire to the IGN input of the radio, but the Radio is on all the time, and you need to use it's on/off button, which on mine is awkward, you have to hold the source button for 3 seconds!!

Dig cam is a Kodak DC215 it's not bad but eats batteries (4 *AA type)
