Hello guys ive had the above issue for about 6 months :D The spanner with car light comes up and goes off at usually points in my journey and can be triggered if going up hill around 2000 revs. It restricts performance when comes on and sometimes goes off on own or needs a key flick. I had to use Opcom while driving to get code. It would never store when tryed to get it at home. Anyhelp or advice would be great.

Did you see a fault code and what was it ? Think you see leak detected but get the code number . Anyway heres some things to check ....... Turbo and intercooler duct pipes all tght and leak free . Take off the EGR valve and give it a good clean out with brake cleaner and a tooth brush ,make sure the solonoid pin is moving free sometimes you need to drill a small hole in the end of the black solonoid case and free it off by working it in ond out . use opcom to test your boost valve you hear the engine change note when you actvate it . check the MAP sensor is operating in opcom ..
When the spanner light is on you are in limp mode so you cant get over 2500 rpm thats the restriction not the fault .
I think its gona be the EGR if it plays up an error code is created BUT it may play up and the ECU still sees it as operating normal thats when the solonoid pin is sticky ,It stays open and chucks the boost pressure down the exhaust then the ECU thinks you got a leak good luck

A very cryptic post - you retrieved the fault code, but you choose not to share it with us but expect a meaningful diagnosis? Ok, sounds like it's the left flangey that's missing or broken.

I can only get the fault and code when driving and didnt right it down. I will have to give it ago again :( It began with a 2 if thats any help :-D It seems to happen mainly when under 2000 revs and coming under load like hill ect. Sometimes it goes off and others i need to flick key. Seems to happen roughly same points when driving to work and then might not come on at all. When the light comes on I can get over 2500 revs but car seems restricated and i can still here the turbo. Thanks for your advice

Yeah pedal trick doesnt always work. However all fault codes present or historic are logged after 60 seconds (most are after 3 seconds) As you are describing a reduction in power then this would be classed as a critical fault, so it should be logged. Next time you connect OPCOM check ALL modules, not just the engine.
