I have had my car since jan12 and it has been juddering ever since normally around 30-40 mph.
Emissions light came on and had new coil replaced and was told it could still be the injectors. 8 weeks later ( this week ) the emissions light came on for two days and went off. Took it into the garage and they said they found cylinder number 1 misfire around 30KPH Compressions ok suspect injector fault? also there was soot on cylinder 2. I had to take the car home, it is going back in end of next week? but since yesterday it is really juddering and also popping loudly every so often from the exhaust or engine.. when the engine is running and the car is stationary the exhaust is popping quietly and you can here the engine missing....? no emissions lights are on at the moment.

Press the brake down and accelerator and keep them pressed. try turning the ignition on to position 2. Do not start the engine. watch the spanner light. It will flash. Have a pen and paper ready and count the flashes followed by the pauses. The code(s) will be in 4 digit segments. Example ten, pause, 3 pause. 10 pause, 1 pause would indicate 0301. Keep it pedals pressed incase theres more than 1 code. Write them all down and post them.

I did that and nothing. I don't know if this makes sense but the mechanic said that a box? has been removed so that may indicate that the person before was having problems with it, i think it shows up faults?

It should work on that engine as i have the same engine in my zafira. Did the spanner light flash at all? Does it light up when you put the ignition on? If so try the procedure again. Make sure the pedals are pressed down as much as you can and hold them there. If your cars a auto then try it in D/N or 1st. The autos will only work in 1 psotion but i cant rememer which, What the mechanic has said makes no sense at all. If the "box" that reads the faults was removed the car wouldnt run.

Try a new MAF (mass air flow) sensor.

You should get one for £50-£60. They dont always show faults up but can cause the problems you're having.

There is no point buyng MAF for this engine as it doesnt have one. only the 1.8s had a MAF. P0300 is unidentifed/multiple missfire code. Is the fuel guage reading below 1/3rd. the reason i ask this is the zafira/astra do have issues on some cars if the tank runs low. It usually starts playing up giving the symptoms you have just above quarter of a tank but VX guages are crap so thats why ive said half a third. This fault will throw P0300 which you have. If you are running the car with less than a 3rd of a tank try filling the car up so the guage is over half and see if the problem goes. If this is the case then the problem is the swirl pot inside the tank has become unclipped. In some cases it just needs poping back into place. In severe cases it needs a new tank. also try loosening the fuel cap to see if that helps. Sometimes the beather gets blocked

Also you say they replaced the coil pack. What make coil pack have they fitted and where the spark plugs changed at the same time? These engines can be a bit funny about cheap aftermarket coil packs so if they have fitted a cheap coil pack then this still may be the problem. Only fit delphi/GM to these engines. There is one other make that may be ok but i cannot think of the name of it. have a look and post back with the make
