thanks to everyone who has responded to my threads in the past, just had to get that out the way, now i have a horn problem, i went to use the horn and it worked when i pressed it once then went to press it again and nothing. i replaced the fuse and it still dont work however when either button is pressed a click from behind the dash roughly where the fuses are can be heard, since its not the fuse would there be a relay or something, everything else works so any advice is welcome. thanks in advance.

Just had a look at the wiring diagram, locate the horn and with a multi meter or bulb and holder pull off the red/brown wire off the horn and check for 12v when pushing the horn button..check that the brown earth wire from the horn is grounded
even though the relay is clicking it may have contact failure internally

Hi eightvalve from what you have said it sounds like the horn its self is u/s.
the relay is under bonnet on the bulk head it is an oblong black box behind and slightly above engine.
if you can hear it click when you press button then in most cases its the horn its self.
hope this helps
wayne.

if you try a multi meter on the horn you will get a constant live and bottom wire is earth, common fault with them being at front behind grill water ingress.

easiest way to tell if the horn is functioning or its a relay/fuse/switch/wiring, is take the plug off the horn, get 2 lengths of electrical wiring, enough to run from the battery, over the engine, infront of the bumper and to the horn, now connec 1 end of the wire to the + battery terminal, 1 to the - terminal, and connect the other end of the wires to the horn terminals, dont matter what terminals go on what, then this will give you a direct 12v power to the horn, if the horn sounds, you know the horn is ok, if it dont, its the horn itself at fault, and from the symptons you descibe, ie, push the button you hear the relay click, id say the button is working and the relay is fine as you can hear the relay clicking, indicating that power is getting from the button to the relay, so only possibilities would be wiring from the relay to the horn, or the horn itself. So test your horn, and this would give you a clear indication to the fault

I have the same problem in an Combo van 2003, the horn gradually died over a few weeks - I think I use it too much!! ;-)

Was over at the dealer and they printed out a sheet which showed the parts etc and where it was located but perhaps its different in a van to a corsa car?

I think Im going to have to look for a breakers yard

A question being a newbie I picked our new van up today moted and allegedly all working. Found the horn not working. Where the hell is it placed on the van I cannot find it can some kind person tell me what to test and where to go with it. I also looked under the bonnet and have seen a large yellow funnel type thing can I assume that's the oil filler. Can you get spare keys for this van and how much? I have no doubt that as a newbie there will be many questions to come

First thing you need to do is take yourself over to the Vivaro forum where you are likely to get the help you need.
