    Hi I need to change the oil and filter, have not had a good look for the filter and where it is, Im assuming it uses the cartridge type, but where is it on the engine?

    And what type of oil do you use Fully syn 5w 30, 5w 40, 0w 30 or 0w40.

    I have a 2009 MK5 SRI 1.9 150 XP. 35,000miles

    fully synth 5/30 with the GM-LL-B-025 code on the oil container. oil filter will be the paper cartridge type, usually in engine bay, look for plastic oil filter housing, cant remember if its 32mm or 36mm socket ot get housing off... do not overtighten when putting back on!

    the oil filter is at the back of the engine near the bottom,you can access it from underneath or from the top,when i had my vectra i found the vortex socket set from halfords ideal as the socket is more compact than the normal 32mm socket

    Thanks I found it, its easy to get to if your laying right under the car, even had a 32mm socket, be able to crack on tomorrow. the yellow cap is handy idea.
