ive narrowed it down to a bush on this suspension component that the rear coil spring rests on, what is this called, a wishbone/control arm, everywhere i go to try and find this part (or at least the bushes for it) i come up dry,

i just want to change the bushes as this is causing a rattling noise, i have used silicone sealant as a temporary measure which is working but its a matter of time before that goes,

what is this part called or what is the correct part name/no for the bushes

It's very unusual for the bush on that arm to be the cause of noise, it's usually something like the rear anti-roll bar bushes, the drop links or the bushes in the upper control arms. Anyway, it's called a "lower control arm", available from Vauxhall, but they don't list any separate bushes for it, although aftermarket ones may be available. There are two different part numbers for the control arm, depending upon the age of the car. Number 24417090 for cars with chassis number up to and including 58999999; 13204109 for chassis number 61000001 and onwards.

    Hi
Might I suggest that for safety sake that you invest in a trolly jack and some Axle Stands before undertaking any work such as replacing bushes etc, that picture looks quite scarey.

    Regard's,

    Gary.

the noise is defo coming from the bush, the rubber is all chopped and there is bare metal contact, if i move back and forth with a crowbar i can hear the metal contact, but obv on the road with the force of the spring compressing decompressing it multiplies itself throughout the body.

also this is not my picture i stole it off the vectra c club, lol i use a jackstand with a wooden block myself to be honest, wouldnt wanna burst through the trailing arm,

    thanks guys,
