    Hi i have a 07 combo van that the glow plug light flashing when the engine is running. the light switch's on for a few seconds when the ignition switched on and gos out the spanner light and engine management lights are out when engine running there are no fault codes present in any ecu. the van starts and drives great. i know on vw if the glow light is on with the engine running the stop light circuit has a fault! i have tested the glow plugs and glow plug control ecu for wiring faults, even drained the fuel filter for water, is the egr valve programed to the ecu . kts or scanner do not have any reprogramming mode. not got tec2, any help would be great full.

    I think this means the DPF (diesel particulate filter) requires cleaning, you should increase engine speed to above 2000 rpm (in other words give it a decent run above 2000 rpm) when the light stops flashing the cleaning is done. I think you can force a "regeneration" using opcom but I have never done it myself.

    Hi i drove the van for a short trip when i checked it over, i need to give it a run on the motorway and see if it carries out a regeneration, i see if the pressure sensor can be read with a diag tool, i used to work for a vauxhall main dealer 5 years ago but now with Peugeot/Hyundai and lost touch with product knowledge with vauxhall thanks for the reply,and as soon as i can get back to the van i will let you know how i get on.
