I was just wondering why the UK and Ireland differ so much in views about Europe

Well we know why the UK is leaving because we were conned in to it, Greece wants to leave because they owe Germany so much money, but Irelands currency is the Euro so that might have something to do with it.

I guess you'd need to break the UK down into its 4 respective countries before comparing to Ireland - I imagine (without going fact hunting) that it's England that is the one most different rather than the UK.

Also think, as above, the currency will play at least a part - they're more invested in the EU from at least a financial perspective.

For me, what would be most interesting with these kinds of numbers is the question "why?". E.g. For the stay voters : is it for solidarity and peace (remembering the original purpose of the EU inception), freedom of movement, etc etc. For the leave voters : is it immigration, standing by ourselves, improvement in x, y or z etc

That would be interesting, at least to me.

Looking at the wealth figures per capita, the UK is well behind the Republic, which is surprising. Looks like the Republic is a better place to live or I am wrong?

Still not understanding your point, or interest, in the UK's wealth per capita or our difference in EU outlook compared to Ireland.

Perhaps this years potato crop was particularly good?
And the EU eats a lot of potatoes?

It may be something to do with the UK being a net contributor to the EU, while Ireland gets more out of membership than it contributes.

Why does Ireland take more than Britain if it is a richer country? This is absurd.
