Having thought I had sorted out my Frontera starting problem and the car running ok for a couple of days last night car cut out on me checked the fuses and found the ECU 15 amp fuse had blown so I popped a new 1 in and got up the road 200yards and it blew again now as soon as I put a new fuse in it pops

RAC was pretty clueless Ive had a look at the wiring around the fuse box and ecu and cant see any signs of a short ive checked all plugs couplings and cables for signs of rubbing and wear any ideas ??? please

Also if I need a new ECU Who supplies them and how much are they likely to be?? is an overhaul an option can anybody recomend a company to repair them

Its Frontera 2.0l Niagra sport 1996 Petrol model the ECU is located drivers side footwell

    UPDATE
I disconected the battery last night and this morning took the ECU to a local company to check they had a look inside and could find no reason that would cause the fuses to blow I put it all together and hey presto it started and ticked over for 10 mins then the engine manegment light on the dash came on solid not flashing (i guess this means its in limp home mode) im now at a loss so any suggestions ????

Checked the cables and plugs around the expansion tank and the relay the relay had been greased up at some time so I gave it a good clean and the car is running at the moment without any lights showing on dash so im off around the block for a little run fingers crossed!!! Just hope it dont need to be recovered again as I appear to have used all my RAC lives up!!

I would still like to know where the diagnostic plug is located
I found the "paperclip" thread and it all seems pretty straightforward

Just gone for a test drive and got 200y and 15amp ECU fuse popped HELP!!!!!!!!!!
