Is it just me, or do others get annoyed when messages are ignored?
Twice recently, I have messaged local sellers of vehicles on auction listings (with no contact details shown on the listing), requesting to come and look at the vehicles before bidding. Both times, I have been ignored, and then neither has met the reserve price.
How do they expect to get their expected price if they won't reply to a reasonable request to view? There is no way I would bid on a car without seeing it first.
The last two cars I have bought have come off Ebay, but I viewed them before bidding.

Yeah, ignore them, and move on, unless the auction is for a really special or rare care, their lack of care when selling probably indicates a lack of care when owning...

I've had experience of buying both an old a vehicle via Ebay and Gumtree inluding via Trader

I actually purchesed our van (Zaffy A), via an ad on Gumtree., which turned out was advertised on Autotrader.

Thankfully for me they were a 'Small Family Busness' and it couldn't have gone better, they replied to messages and even helped with the delivery of the vehicle, so I didn't lose out on TAX.

Well, after my earlier rant, the seller of the car that is still on ebay auction got back to me, and I have been to see it. I am now bidding on it, but it is still below the reserve. It ends tomorrow, so we shall see what happens.

I can tell you what will happen. The car will sell . But not to you. Then next week it'll be back on there with the joking seller ranting about buyer 123456789imanidiot
Not having money or not getting in touch.
That'll be because he was bidding his own item up to get more money out of you and everybody else.

eBay put a stop to that about 5 years ago.
With all the ISP logging etc... eBay can tell what's going on.
If you shill bidding, they now sanction/suspend your account.
However, I suppose they can always get a mate to bid on it for them...
A lot of chests on eBay. Not just sellers, but buyers too.
