True for the Vectra-B, but not for the Vectra-C. As I stated earlier, the switches are an integral part of the door stay mechanism. There are no visible pin switches on the Vectra-C.

Try disconnecting the battery for 10 to 15 mins. IE, as per when a computer plays up, you reboot it.

By the way, being an 08, you won't need a stereo code.

You'll have to reprogram the electric windows. Fully open, then fully close. Release finger from closed button, then press again and hold down for approx 5 seconds. Repeat for the other windows.

Many thanks everyone. I was at my local Vauxhall garage at 08:00 this morning and they managed to slot me in. They linked up my car to their diagnostic computer and got it working again but they've ordered a complete new dash control set under warranty.

Hi guys, I thought I'd try my luck with this thread. my 52 plate Vectra has the drivers door open light on all the time, as of an hour ago!, and the central locking won't work as a result. The door is closed fine, but the sensor is obviously not working. I see the mention of the switch being part of the arm, is the switch in the door side or the car body side? Any help would be great, as at the mo I have no alarm and am having to lock the door by hand from the inside etc etc. I plan to take the skin off in the morning to haea fiddle about.

    Adam.

The switch is inside the door. Sealed unit apparently.

Have similar problem with 55 reg astra: the dash warning light stays on for about 15 seconds after closing any of the doors, goes off and comes back on for a further 15 seconds before finally turning off, (it comes on fine on opening any of the doors!).
If you start the car during the 15 seconds, a buzzing starts from the dash (as if you have left the head lights on, and opened the drivers door), this continues for about a minute, before it stops.
    It drives you mad!
    The central locking works fine
The pin switch is evidently part of the drivers door lock?
But am stuck from there on
    Any one got any info?

I too have the same problem on my 03 Vectra. I looked in the Haines manual but there's no mention of where the sensor is. I'd like to replace it if possible. Interestingly the switch to unlock the boot from the drivers door is also faulty, I don't know if they are related. I don't fancy taking the whole door apart and start drilling out pop rivets though. I'm hoping the sensor is in the locking mechanism and I can just remove that from the door edge and replace it. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Just had this problem on my 06 Vectra, it started with the door and tailgate warning lights not going off even with the ignition of and key removed, locks and alarm worked then on restart there were no dash lights (except the doorand tailgate) or speedo and rev counter, I read this thread and rather than disconnect the battery I tried pulling fuse 17 and it seems to have worked.
