My car is on its 2nd EGR valve in the time I have owned it-latest was only fitted end of April and its losing power again pedal test shows ECN 227956 so I was wondering if it really is possible for it to have gone again in just under four weeks or could it be something else? (last one lasted 10months) When they changed it last time it was apparently completely clogged. I know this is a really common problem but I just have this funny feeling that something else is wrong.

ECN 227956 is P2279 which comes up as Intake air leak (mechanical fault) So I would say yup EGR valve, but, I would also get any vacuum pipes, including turbo pipes checked out too

Please let us know how you get on.

Well I have my car back! They have given me a new inlet manifold and driving it today it was back to its former self with noticibly more power-something I haven't had for a couple of months. Fingers crossed that this will sort it and the problems won't come back too soon!
