    Hi can anyone help me my fan belt has broken and i have a replacement fan belt, but my mechanic would like a diagram so he can fit it properly on the pulleys

    notches?? that doesnt sound right for a drive belt, only notches i can think surely are for a timing belt or chain

    by the sound you mec does not know what he is doing vecs dont have fan belt as has elec fan.and fan is at front of engine not the side runing off engine.the belt is a aux belt,its to run ac.power stering and altonator.

    True, but it's a hangover from the old days - fan belt, drive belt, auxiliary belt - call it what you want, most people will know what you mean.

    I call it different things depending on the age of the person I'm talking to :)
