    Hi everyone

I have a 05 Corsa C 1.3cdti with A/C. The Belt seems to squeaking. I had a diesel leak on the car and think it might have got onto the belt.....etc. I had a look to remove the belt but i am not sure were the tensioner is to slacking the belt. Does anyone know how to remove the alternator belt? I had an older corsa and you slackened the tensioner on the alternator. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Mike

Ok I have replaced the belt. It has an automatic tensioner. The tensioner is just beside the crank pulley. Use a 14mm socket and turn the tensioner clockwise. This takes the tension off the belt.
But The noise is still there????? I don't know how to test if the tensioner has enough tension or it is the water pump??????????????

Please could anyone give some advice

Had the same problem sound on our 05 1.3 CDTi. It turned out to be the nylon pulley wheel!!! Had it swapped for a metal pulley wheel and all was quiet :)

    Hope this helps you Mike

    Found the fault guys
It is a common fault on these corsa's that the pulley on the alternator needs replaced. Often around 50k miles. There is a clutch in the pulley which only allows it to turn one way. It is to stop the belt from jumping off. The pulley is fitted with a large nut. You could do it yourself if you have the use of an air gun. to remove the nut.

    Hope this helps everyone.
