Hi. I was on my way home listening to the radio and when i turned up the volume the radio went off. I thought i must have presssed the button to switch the radio off by mistake because the display had changed to the time and date. I tried pressing the button again but nothing happened.
As i am working in London i need my radio to listen to traffic news. Is it broke or can it be fixed?

try pulling the on off knob off then press the centre pin in that the knob fits to, if the radio works then put a little round ball of paper in the centre of the knob and refit and should be sorted.

Hi mate. Just tried that and it didn't work. I've checked the fuses under the bonnet and they all seem fine. I've read that there is a fuse on the actual radio itself. The only problem is , is I don't have any stero keys for this radio. Is there another way I can get it out?
Many thx for ur quick reply.

wold hink that it has small allen screws as blanking heads that need to come out first, all i have is some welding wire with rounded ends and a knotch cut with a grinder about 15 mm from the rounded end, could use a file for this. when you push them in they should pop the locking tabs in and locate into the groves so you can pull the radio out, might have to wiggle it a little as it will have to pull out of the connecting plugs, or you can buy a set of ebay for very little money.

I've got some wire thick enough to fit the holes so I'll give that ago when I get home. Thanks.

    hi there

pretty sure it'll be the 'real' fuse under the bonnet. it's up near the battery, between battery and relay fuse box.

you need to lift up the plastic panel from under the windscreen to be able to change/clean up the fuse and holder, though a child might be able to get both hands in to get the cap off. iirc, it's a t25 bit for the screws. you only need to undo 2 of them to get enough space.

    see http://www.vauxhallownersnetwork.co.uk/index.php?threads/cd-30-radio.317287/

just clean up with WD40/switch cleaner and a small screwdriver.
