Any ideas what this is on my dad's mokka front brake caliper?

Doesn't really look like rust. More like a burn. We took it for a drive and the brakes were not hot

He bought the mokka a few months back 6months old so they may have serviced the brakes

That looks like the brake caliper starting to go rusty. Nothing to worry about.

One of the other causes for this to happen is when you use a handwash car wash, they use a wheel cleaner-- found this out when the one I USED!! to use when I asked him what it was he said he used brick acid/patio concrete cleaner.told him it would damage the calipers/wheels etc and all he said was he had had no complaints. What I do now is wash the wheels myself before I go and get them to soap wash the wheels.------Dave

Nothing to worry about (on set of the dreaded rust) if you would like to it might be worth painting the calipers.
It's more noticeable at this time of year .

    Acidr burn ...
If not, it's over use of grease which may have gone bad.
I'd take the wheel off and check the brakes to be totally sure
