    Hello..

I seem to have a problem with the fan speed for the heater in my car. It's an Astra H 05 reg 1.7cdti Elite.
It was all working fine this morning and then when i was coming home i could not alter the speed control on the fan. It seems it is not blowing no matter what speed i set it to on the climate control but obviously as i pick speed up i can feel warm air that has passed through the engine bay and out of the vents..
I have checked the fuses in the boot, is there anything else i can check..

I have had several Electrical glitches with my Astra. Might just be a glitch in the ECU Software as this controls most things in the car. Try disconnecting the battery negative lead and leave it overnight then reconnect in the morning. Doing this resets the ECU on the Astra H (MK5) and has cleared several glitches in the ECU on my Astra.

Cheers for that.. turns out that there is 2 fuses under the bonnet in the fuse box next to the battery that i need to check..Only just noticed these as i looked at the fuse layout in the owners book.. Can't check these until the wife gets home in an hours time..

Right I checked the fuses and they are all ok..Wife got home from work and said the fan was blowing but with a whirring noise, so i went and checked it out and the fan had stopped working again ( typical )..
But when i turned it to speed 7 on the climate control i could hear a clicking noise coming from the vents but as i turned the speed control down the clicking stopped..
    open to suggestions...

has it sucked in a load of leaves or twigs that is jamming the fan?.

    Ok just a quick update...
I never got round to disconnecting the battery over night.
The problem has started again but i have figured something out... If the fan is not working, i can hit the black box that is located at the back of the center console ( in the drivers footwell ) and the fan starts blowing again ?.
I have changed pollen filter and there was no leaves or anything in there and the fan was working fine then, now the problem has started again...
so can anyone shed any light on my problem..
    cheers in advance..

    Danny
