My astra 1.7 cdti (03) is showing a yellow emissions warning light on the dash. I am told I should clean the sensor first to eliminate the problem.
BUT Where is it ? I have had a quick look but there are shields over the turbo/exhaust . am i looking in the right place ? Am i doing the right thing or do these cars have problems with emissions ?

    Thanks.:shake

is it the one with a car and spanner through it or the picture of an engine? in either case you need, any fault codes to be read, not sure if the pedal trick will work on this one. But costs nothing to try it. Do a search on this forum.

i did the pedal trick. no codes came up. it is just the engine picture light comes on. NOT the ECU light . The car drives fine no power loss etc. I just want to locate the sensor and clean it to see wot happens. thanks

But you don't know which sensor to clean right? The only sensor fitted is right in the top of the catalyst, which is bolted right on the end of the turbo. If this sensor is providing an out of range signal, it will normally bring the EML on, or store some kind of fault code, the pedal trick is very hit or miss on pre 2004 diesel engines. So you may still have a code that the pedal test doesnt work with.
