Hi all i have a 2006 Vauxhall Zafira here and the rear passenger side door will not open. When i lock/unlock the car i can hear the mechanism in the door operating, but the door will not open from the outside and the childlock is on so also will not open from inside. A few months ago i had to repair the wires going to the door and I have checked these as well as i can with the door closed and they seem to be ok.
Is it possible to take the door card of with the door closed and is it possible to get the door open if i go down this route? Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

Just got the door card off (thanks to previous help) and had a good investigation, locking mechanism is definantly working when i press the button, inside door opener/lever is attached and in tact. outside door handle is stiil attached and in tact. Has anyone any ideas on how to get the door open? I suspect the door lock itself is faulty and it looks like it can only be removed with the door open. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

Chances are then, that the deadlocking has failed within the door lock itself. This can happen after the wires have been previously split in the door, as yours has. I've heard that it is possible to remove the door lock from the inside of the door, with it closed, but it's a very fiddly job. I haven't tried it myself, so I can't say for certain...
