I think the boost solenoid on the vectra is on the drivers side bulk head, there will be a small black plastic pipe going to the turbo from it,disconnect the pipe and get someone to rev the engine and see if you get any suction on the end of the pipe,if not check all the pipes running from vacuum pump on engine check for leaks or splits, P0638 could be the idle speed controller or throttle pedal, speed controller is inside pump so without knowing if the setting for the two pumps to compare i won`t know, will try and find out tomorrow for you.

limp mode is probably the boost solenoid.

It looks like the problems your having are caused by the 2.2 pump running at a much higher pressure than the 2.0,so the pump is over fuelling and the throttle is trying to adjust the speed controller to adapt the pump to run this engine and not being able to do this it`s putting the car into limp mode to prevent any further damage being caused to the engine.

cheers for the reply andy limp mode problem has been solved turns out we forgot to replace the gasket on the part below the egr valve when we were cleanin this allowed pressure to escape and made the car go into limp mode once we replaced the gasket car has not gone into limp mode (been usin car all day) tho i still have the fault code p1590 vacum solenoid valve curcuit open if i clear code while car is running code goes away but returns on the next restart of the engine even tho i replaced the vacum pump on drivers side bulk head as for code p0638 throttle control solenoid valve open curcuit will not clear no matter how i try to clear it but the car is running fine with no probs bar these 2 codes

You could try going through all the modules with Opcom and see if everything is programmed correctly,P0638 could be immobiliser related, could be worth just going through and checking for codes in each module bcm/ecu/immo, ect

might be worth letting it run in for a couple of days and see how it goes,it might be the pump pressures that are setting the codes off, i will keep scratchin me head and if i think of anything i will let you know:confused:
