there is the possibility that the EDU on top of the pump has failed and not the pumps mechanics and the EDU is far easier to change. what fault have you got with the car?

haven't had a MAF issue yet on mine so can't advise on possibility here. i have had 2 crank sensor issues on mine and is usually attributed to a warm engine, what will happen here is the rev counter will stop reading and EML will light along with a very lumpy idle and periods of a lower power...

i am breaking a 2.2, but with it being an LS there aint much other than spare parts from her. car also needs to be kept as a rolling shell so i can shift it off my drive, had an offer on what is left after any parts have sold off which includes gearbox, bottom end and alloys at £120 collected...

hmm thats interesting, will keep that in mind in for future reference. i can understand the point annie about the fuel in boats but would this mostly be attributed to boats sitting around for long periods of time whereas cars generally tend to get used more often so reducing any condensation...

that does sound wierd. basically the immobiliser uses the EML light and flashes when its engaged, but by the sounds of it your eml is picking up a fualt on/off giving a immobiliser looking EML. i'd get a 2nd opinion on a code read mate, is there anyone in your area with opcom that could do a...

yes they do have the injector seals on the dti and are a common problem apparently which is usually attributed to poor starting, and oil and fuel filter.
  9. Large Vauxhalls
paperclip trick wont work its a dti. Daz 937 i'd get a 2nd opinion with the code read as some readers dont communicate with the dti's. As for flashing eml, as already said a flashing eml will prevent the car from firing up. But this is a constant flash. Does the eml come on, on key position...

our lasses green 1.8 hatchback gls is no longer needed, she's used it for the past year for her to runaround in and it's served it's purpose now so time for it to go, and sharpish too! so i was going to weigh it in and reclaim the 4/5 months tax back, but thought i'd throw it up here for grabs...

i read somewhere that 04 onwards cars have a differend psg16/32 pump or something! I dont know the in's and outs but apparently they are coded to the cars ecu which would need coding. If you already have the pump off then if it were me i'd be fitting a reputable recon as opposed to 2nd hand...

yup the pumps are quite hard to come by, can you find out the fault code from your mechanic, most of the time the pumps suffer from the EDC failing (electronic diesel controller) mine did and i have spoke to several others the same, what is concerning is when they test the controllers they come...

i dare say go anywhere other than kwik fit. Had a friend recently who said her exhuast is blowing. Told her to nip into a zorst place and get a quote and i'll also give her a price based on what needs doing. She got 2 prices kwik fit - £256 centre and backbox friends garage - £105 backbox only...

sounds to me you have a number of issues here fella, when it does start is the EML on? Does it go off when revved, is it easier to start when its warmed up? I looked at your other post about pump number, i think there are other things to explore here before buying a complete pump. Of which is...

047 0504 204 will be the number you'll want fella as my version is 047 0504 016 on my 2.2. Out of curiosity what makes you think the whole pump is dead?
