    They don't fit well on the omega. The oil filler cap is on the inlet side, whereas the Cav/Cal/Omega ones are on the exhaust side. The cap will be under the inlet plenum on the omega.

    These engines are terrible for burning oil, have you checked there's plenty in it? I replaced my last Z16XE with one, that burns just as much oil, but doesn't rattle. PS: The Z16XE has a software update available for deleting the EGR entirely. I borrowed a Tech2 to reprogram mine.

    How Much gas is there? You can check the pressure using a manifold gauge set, or on later vauxhalls including yours, read it from the ECU with Tech2/OP Com. I expect you have insufficient gas pressure for it to run.

    Sounds like a blocked breather pipe if you have fumes from the top but not the bottom.

    Disconnect the AFM and see if the engine runs better (albeit with a fault lamp). If it does swap the AFM.

    Between the Charge lamp and Oil pressure lamp is the EM light. The Spanner is the Service Vehicle Soon light (minor faults)
