Got a recon engine in my vectra 1.8 gls 97.
Driving it home and engine management light comes on (the light which is an engine with a lightening bolt through it), then ABS light comes on. I pull up and the car is taking ages to even start.
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,
I was gonna do the paper clip test but every time i do it i blow fuses and even when it works it gives me the same answer which is air flow thing.
As for battery i dont think your far off, i have had a play about and i have a funny feeling the alternator isnt working as it should be.
For info though i got rid of the ABS light by driving about 50mph then slamming on, the ABS worked fine and the light stopped bothering coming on.
The car not starting i think was air in the fuel/engine so i went to the trusty M62 and got to a steady 120mph and put a few litres of fuel through.
Now its just the Engine light i have to contend with, but i think as said its the alternator.
Thanks for input.

If it was the alternator the battry light should stay on when the engine is running, Use a multimeter on the alternator terminals, and it should give a voltage readin around 14volts.
