Hi there,

I got a 2001 1.8 ls vectra, and it keeps dying.
You're driving along one minute and all of a sudden there's no power at the accelerator the car slows down, the revs drop to nothing, then life will come back to it and it will drive again.
We thought it was the fuel filter,. so we bought a new one and fitted it, and it seemed to stop for a while but its started happening again this morning.
If anyone has any ideas, I will be eternally grateful as Im suppose to be going on holidays Sunday and would really like to get there!!!
Thanks for reading anyway!

Does it usually do this (cut out) when you change gear, especially if you change down or if you are coming to a stop?
Do your speed gauges and rev counters etc... fall to nil?
Does you steering become stiff?

If you let me know these i may be able to help.
Cheers

Thanks for your response,
It doesn't normally o this it has just started to happen in the past 2 day which led me to believe it was the filter.
Yes, the gagues do all fall to 0, it cuts out as you put your foot down.
I tried to overtake and got alongside the car and it died (which was reayyle embarassing!!!:mmmm )
and to be completely honest I haven't noticed the steering because IM too busy freakin out about the lack of power underneath my foot!!!!!!
I hope this helps, but if it doesn't thanks again for replying!
