Hi guys,
I've been offered a '97 N plate vectra for £100
Its a little scruffy but nothing that a bit of filler and a spray can won't fix but the main thing I need to know is can I fit, with as little fuss as possible, my cav V6, 5 stud hubs onto this vectra so I can use my nice alloys on it?
I want to know as I am soon going to be breaking the cav and want to use as many "spares" from the cav as I can.
Cheers guys.

2.0 and bigger have 5 stud already.
I wouldn't bother with anything smaller.

I see.
Its a 1.8 16v. Are they pretty pants then?
I was considering getting it to tidy the bodywork up, stick some nice wheels on and hopefully make a bit of dosh.
My v6 cavvy has a blown head gasket, would that be better to do? Problem is, I have limited funds and I am concerned that one or both of the heads are buggered.
:bananasmi It's another sunny day.... Yipeeee :bananasmi

115BHP, and about 1.4 Tonnes.
Slooow
Appeal to old people, and those that can't insure anything bigger.

Fair enough dudes, I'll not bother with that one then.
Thanks for the opinions.

Surely you'd make a few quid profit even without adding your alloys?? Spray & filler don't cost much LOL

Well thats what I was thinking, as it's tidy inside.
I dont know now really as if people know that 1.6 / 1.8 are pants then I'm stuck with it.
I must admit though, I am still very tempted.
Get it, tidy it and sell it to an old person

The 1.8 is pants, extremely boring and flat.
Spend the money sorting your V6 out
1.8 is also considerably more economic than the 2.0. At £100 you've got to have it, the 'box is worth that.

Every 1.8 owner I know of complains about the dismal fuel economy, the 2.0 is barely enough to pull the weight, the 1.8 is underpowered

HA HA HA, Reading all the posts, it's no wonder I am so un decided. LOL.
I reckon I'll get it and spend some time checking it out. First thing will be an MOT then I'll take it from there. I understand they are possibly a bit under powered but TBH, and I don't mean anyone offence, if 1.8 and 2.0 cars, not just vectras, weigh about the same, surely they're all going to be underpowered to a point. Where does the line get drawn?
My V6 went tits up nearly a year ago now and it's been stood cos I am reluctant to let it go for silly money but I also know I'll not get much as it is.
I got a cheap £100 fiesta 1.3 auto that had t&t on it just until it's test ran out but I got it through MOT and it goes like turd off a shovel!!
I just need a physically bigger car.
Can you guys give me any examples of how bad the economy is on the vectra's?

Ok, just to give this thread another turn, how difficult would it be to drop the engine in my cav??
I don't really want the V6 anymore cos petrol is getting to stupid price levels again.
