After getting over the initial shock of a £700+ repair bill for my aircon compressor, I've decided to keep the car and have some serious work done on the car before I go to uni. (leaving my job and going back as a mature student, oh joy!) I was going to go for a used BMW but I just can't bring myself to do it, plus I've had the vectra for six years and I know it's history. (Better the devil you know, as they say)
This is all on the assumption that I'll be getting a decent pay off from my current employer, but anyway...
What I'd like to do is fit the GSi kit to my 1998 Arctic saloon, along with some suitable alloys, though I'm a little stuck on where to go to get the parts. Obviously, I could go main dealer, but I don't fancy contributing to their holiday funds any more than I already have done this year.
Can anybody recommend a decent alloys/bodykit supplier? (preferrably in the Hull/East Yorkshire area or someone who does a relaible delivery service)
Also, will the twin-tailpipe back box from the Vectra 1.8 SRi fit straight onto my vectra? Bizarrely enough, the vx main dealer couldn't answer this one.
The other option I've considered is to go for a facelifted 1.8 SRi or the 1.8 SXi special edition, anybody on here have either of those models? Are they any more reliable than the Mk1 Vectra B?
