I have had a S reg Vectra 1.8 16v LS (120K on clock!!)

I have had the car 24 hours nd the Oil Pump went, making it sound like a tractor! have had this replaced and the Engine Management light has come on and it is Missfiring!

The engine has been taken out to replace the Oil Pump, but there is no code on the diag machine when plugged in! this is a re list due to me not mentioning about the miss-fire!

Could anyone shed some light on what the prob could be please, as the bloke who has it to sort it seems to have hit a dead end!

Many thanks to anyone that can help me out here!!!

To be honest mate it seems youve bought a lemon.
Id take it back, its quite obvious who ever sold you it had prob just bodged a problem to make it last whilst you bought it.
If it was sold 'as seen' then youve not got a leg to stand on, if you was told it was in perfect nick etc... then you can bring legal action, the course to take is 'misrepresentation' It would cost about £250 to bring legal action but you might get your money back.

Or you could always leave your car parked with window slightly down and doors 'accidently' left unlocked.

Or you could drive to sticks, smash steering column and torch it.

I had a problem with my car and the engine sounded like popping corn/tractor and the revs didnt go above 4000 revs the car had barely any power and the angine was getting red hot.
It turns out a cylinder or a valve has gone and im having to fork out for an engine recondition. Just hope its not that because im getting bummed to the tune of £725 and my car being off the road for over a week.

have been told by the bloke that it is the ECU that is fubar, and that they have ordered the part!

The bloke fixing it is the bloke who sold it me and he isnt charging me for any of the work, is there any chance of damage to other areas of the engine with the oil pump going and me having to drive it around 8 miles (not taking it above 1500 rpm) to get it to the garage!!

ta fuzzy you have given me some thoughts!!!
