I posted the other day saying my engine was popping and clattering and it was about as powerful as a fly pulling a train.
Well, took it to a mate today and found out what it is - A Cylinder has gone and something about the valves.
So got the offer, recondition the engine or scrap the car.
Its costing me.....wait for it.... £725 for full recon that includes labour and VAT.

The engine is 1.8 16V Eco Tec.
So heres the question.
1) Am i getting skanked @ £725
2) Is a Reconditioned Engine actually worth it?

Opinons would be appreciated :nana2:

To be honest, on a 1.8 gls, I would strip the useful bits off it and scrap the rest.

You can get a similar spec car for around the same money.

Or you can see the light and come over to rear wheel drive Omega goodness! ;)
