Back in my day of high class audio systems I built this for my Cav. It houses three Focal 5WS subs which is a 5" sub rated at 80wrms / 150w peak.
You think yeah right, a 5" sub with only 80wrms:lmao:
They have a low sensitivity of 80db and a resistance of 5ohms IIRC so they take some power to drive them, the way they are configured are all run in parallel with one pos & one neg wire coming out so were running just under 2ohms so a suitable amp is needed. I was running them off an Audison amp at 600wrms and they loved it, sounded brilliant.
Being situated in the passenger footwell the bass is right up front in the car rather than being distant & far behind in the boot & when ran with a sub in the boot I could fade them in & out for demonstration purposes & my god the differance they make is unreal. Being a small enclosure & a small speaker multiplied by a few makes the bass a real hard punchy bass aswell as being able to drop a little.
They don't have the deep bass response as a twelve or fifteen but I ran these with a thirteen in the boot & there was times driving around I thought the bass in the car was too heavy so bring up the menu to turn off the thirteen inch sub in the boot off only to find it's already switched off & so have to turn these 5" subs down some.

These speakers retailed at £100 each & a custom box like this which took 2 days labour to build would be around £200, a guy on ebay has just sold these subs at £51 each.

Looking for £200 for this.
Incidentley these complement the speakers Marc is selling beautifuly:Cool2: so for less than £500 for top end components & sub box (All Eutopia range) then £500 for a good amp, that's a grand for a top SQ system.:Cool2: And not to mention keeping your boot free.

So you loose your passenger footwell? Can't work out how these are mounted?

I get that part but it aint very practical if you loose the footwell!

If you don't have mates, why waste the space.

:lmao:

I, unfortunately for them, do have mates, so, I'll have to pass!

Good luck though, does look quality!

As you can see it's designed to sit in the footwell & be used as the foot rest.
I'm 6ft tall & could sit in there when the girlfriend drove. Mind you I doubt all your 7ft tall mates would find it comfortable.

Any offers if intrested?

couldnt a single larger sub have been mounted in the same space though? and theres surely potential for driver damage.. as well as blocking the heater vents for the footwell... id definately be concerned about running a setup like that

You probably could mount a single 8" sub in there but if you know or hear the potential of these subs they'll blow a sin gle 8 or 10 away for the bass they give.
If you'd noticed from the pictures above you'll see there's an 18mm board which gives the subs clearance for movement & the black triangular board is like a grill & sits over the subs. You can rest your feet on the box, kick it, do what you like & the subs are protected.

It also sits clear of the heater vents into the footwell.
These are a quality speaker, not a chav 10 or 12" sub & I would not of built an enclosure to risk damaging them, I recall the enclosure has the volume of 7 litres.

I take it you've not seen many cars that compete in SQ competitions.

Here's only 3 examples of these speakers being used, there were lots of people in the SQ scene using these but unfortunantly I've got worked to do.

Chances are these subs are going to sell & be posted rather than being collected & chances on someone buying them for a Cav are slim so, does anyone want the fibreglass moulded box if no one takes it with the speakers?
I don't want to bin it but it will be if no one wants it.
